Helen Lee, who is a Qualified Fitness Instructor, has approached us to provide an exercise group for all our members.

There will be three sessions on Wednesday mornings in the Scout Hall at the junction of Jubilee way and Sandy Lane in Caldicot.· 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.


Armchair Aerobics


(remember the session with Kay Flatten that was done in a Science &
Natural History meeting - you all enjoyed having a go then - come along now)


10.00 a.m. to 10.45 a.m. - Aerobics
10.45am to 11.30 a.m. - Pilates

You can participate in just the one session, or two or even all three.

Please give this your support; this is for ALL members,
exercise is important to both men and women of all ages.

We have tried to cater for all fitness levels.

EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50


Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can.  Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.  After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.

Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.  (I'm at this level.)
 
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.
