Pre Exhibition photograph taken Wednesday 25th July 2007Our August art exhibition in Caldicot, tea's in the Methodist Church and lots of sunshine brought out lots of local people to view what our artists had to offer, from overheard conversations and the interest shown in our exhibition inside and outside, the public can't wait too long for another, especially if it brings fine weather and smiling faces, as it did in Caldicot, that day!

The weekly meeting of the art group on Wednesday, 31st May was a little different, the members engaged the services of Gill Fortesque, a lecturer at Newport college, to do a workshop, the subject 'Putting figures into landscapes'.The concentration level was very high, pencils were frantically working, alongside rubbers, was the perspective right? had we got the scale correct?
It was a very interesting session and some very satisfactory work was produced with plenty for us to practise.
10th Anniversary pageant 2005.
Art convenor Stella Foster is seen here with ladies from our art group and yours truly, also a member of the art group and I must emphasise, I wish I was as good at painting as the artist I was taking-off, for our 10th Anniversary pageant 2005.
Almost 70 works using various mediums were on display. Their work not only generated interest from the public but other exhibiting artists who also enquired about the U3A. The art group have asked us to thank all those members that spent time visiting the exhibition and for allowing them to slip away for refreshments.
A special thanks to Ron and Val for organising our display and also for arranging the fine weather.*please click the below thumbnail images for larger photographs
